About the Role
Our client seeks a dedicated Production Operations Engineer to support their extensive operations in the Durban area. This role focuses on optimizing the performance of oil and gas production facilities, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient output. You will troubleshoot operational issues, implement process improvements, and manage production targets. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in maximizing asset value and maintaining high operational standards within the region's energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor daily production operations, identifying and resolving any deviations from expected performance.
- Optimize production rates through effective well management, artificial lift system analysis, and facility adjustments.
- Conduct root cause analyses for equipment failures and operational incidents, implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company safety standards in all production activities.
- Manage production reporting, including daily production volumes, uptime, and key performance indicators.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to plan and execute routine and corrective maintenance activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in oil and gas production engineering or operations.
- Solid understanding of production facilities, artificial lift methods, and well testing.
- Experience with process simulation software and production data analysis.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and hands-on operational experience.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
