About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and hands-on Production Line Lead to join their vibrant manufacturing facility in Durban. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a specific production line, guiding a team of operators to meet daily output and quality targets. You will be responsible for on-the-floor supervision, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced team leader in manufacturing to step up and play a key role in operational excellence, with a blend of on-site and remote oversight responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the day-to-day operations of a designated production line, ensuring adherence to schedules and targets.
- Direct and support production line operators, providing clear instructions and performance feedback.
- Monitor production processes for quality deviations and implement immediate corrective actions.
- Identify and address operational bottlenecks, collaborating with maintenance for swift resolution of equipment issues.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations on the production floor.
- Contribute to the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement projects.
- Previous experience as a team leader or supervisor in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Solid understanding of production line operations, workflow, and quality control principles.
- Strong practical skills in problem-solving and decision-making on the factory floor.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate a team.
