About the Role

Our client, a prominent steel fabrication company based in Durban , is looking for dedicated individuals to join their team as Trainee Welders. This role provides an excellent opportunity to learn and master various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and arc welding, under the guidance of experienced professionals. You will work on diverse projects, contributing to the fabrication of structural steel, metal components, and custom metalwork.

The program emphasizes safety, precision, and skill development, aiming to cultivate highly competent welders for the construction and manufacturing industries in the Durban region and beyond. This hands-on role is integral to the company's production processes.

• Assist certified welders in preparing metal surfaces for welding operations.
• Learn and practice various welding techniques on different types of metals and thicknesses.
• Operate welding equipment safely and efficiently, maintaining appropriate settings.
• Inspect welds for quality, defects, and adherence to specifications.
• Follow detailed blueprints and technical drawings for accurate fabrication.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols.

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent, with a preference for technical drawing or metalwork subjects.
• A strong interest in welding and metal fabrication.
• Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to work meticulously and pay close attention to detail.
• Physically fit and capable of working in various workshop environments.
• Willingness to commit to a rigorous training schedule in Durban.
