Injection Mold Technician

As an Injection Mold Technician, you'll be responsible for keeping production running efficiently by setting up molds, optimizing machine performance, and ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained.

You'll play a vital role in reducing downtime, improving production efficiency, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing facility.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Setting up and changing injection molds safely and efficiently
• Installing and securing molds using overhead cranes and lifting equipment
• Optimising machine parameters to maximise production efficiency and product quality
• Troubleshooting molding defects such as flash, sink marks, short shots, and warping
• Performing preventative maintenance and minor repairs on molds and production equipment
• Monitoring production quality and making process adjustments where required
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce waste
• Working closely with production and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised work environment

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

• A technical qualification in Plastics Processing, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Proven experience with injection molding machines and mold changeovers
• Strong understanding of thermoplastic materials and injection molding processes
• Experience adjusting machine parameters to improve production performance
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• The ability to work independently while maintaining high production standards

• Preventative maintenance experience
• Continuous improvement or Lean Manufacturing exposure
• Experience working in high-volume manufacturing environments

• South African citizen
• Willing and able to relocate to Belgium
• Valid passport (or willing to obtain one)
• Good Afrikaans proficiency is essential
• Strong technical mindset with excellent attention to detail
