Production Supervisor - Heavy Industry

About the Role Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Supervisor to lead a team in their Durban heavy industry manufacturing facility. This hands-on role requires a leader who can ensure daily production targets are met safely and efficiently. You will be responsible for supervising a crew, maintaining equipment, enforcing safety protocols, and ensuring the quality of output. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial manufacturing and a passion for operational excellence and team leadership.

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of production staff, assigning tasks and ensuring efficient workflow.
• Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and production schedules.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce all company safety policies and procedures.
• Train new employees on production processes, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues that arise on the production floor, escalating as needed.
• Maintain production records, including output, material usage, and downtime, and report on team performance.

• Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or in a similar leadership role within heavy industry manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and safety regulations.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a physically demanding environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Familiarity with quality control procedures and production planning.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.
