Sanitation Technician - Industrial

Our client is looking for a skilled and dependable Sanitation Technician to join their industrial operations team in Durban . In this role, you will be responsible for the thorough cleaning and sanitation of industrial equipment, production areas, and facilities to maintain a sterile and safe working environment. Your work will be crucial in preventing contamination, ensuring product quality, and adhering to strict regulatory standards.

This position requires a hands‑on approach, an understanding of industrial cleaning processes, and a commitment to upholding the highest levels of hygiene within a manufacturing or processing setting.

• Perform routine and deep cleaning of industrial machinery, production lines, and plant facilities using approved methods and chemicals.
• Operate specialized cleaning equipment such as pressure washers, floor scrubbers, and steam cleaners.
• Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and environmental regulations during cleaning operations.
• Prepare and mix cleaning solutions according to specified concentrations and procedures.
• Conduct pre‑operational checks on equipment and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
• Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, chemicals used, and any observed issues.

• Previous experience as a Sanitation Technician , preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of industrial cleaning chemicals, their safe handling, and application.
• Ability to operate and maintain various cleaning equipment effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards.
• Physical stamina to perform demanding cleaning tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
• Familiarity with health and safety standards within the Durban industrial sector.
