Plant Operations Engineer

Our client is seeking a dedicated Plant Operations Engineer to join their established manufacturing facility in Durban . This role is central to ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all chemical processing units within the plant. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, troubleshooting process deviations, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to maximize productivity and minimize downtime. • Monitor plant performance and key operating parameters, responding promptly to any deviations.
• Oversee daily operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
• Diagnose and resolve operational problems, working closely with maintenance and technical teams.
• Implement process improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, yield, and environmental performance.
• Participate in the development and execution of operating procedures and training programs for plant staff.
• Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and regulatory requirements.

• BEng or BSc in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in chemical plant operations or process engineering.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex operational issues in a manufacturing environment.
• Solid understanding of process control systems and instrumentation.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and environmental regulations in the chemical industry.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
