Job Purpose
To maintain, repair, install and improve mechanical machinery and equipment used in the confectionery manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities- Attend to mechanical breakdowns on production machinery.
- Conduct preventative mechanical maintenance.
- Inspect machinery for wear, damage and potential failures.
- Repair and replace bearings, shafts, chains, sprockets, belts, seals and other mechanical components.
- Assist with maintenance of conveyors, pumps, gearboxes and production equipment.
- Assist with machinery installation and commissioning.
- Perform alignment, lubrication and adjustment of equipment.
- Carry out basic fabrication and machining work where appropriately skilled.
- Identify recurring mechanical problems and recommend corrective action.
- Maintain maintenance records.
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained.
- Assist with machinery changeovers and production setup.
- Respond promptly to production breakdowns.
- Follow factory safety procedures and machine-isolation requirements.
- Maintain good housekeeping in maintenance areas.
- Support engineering improvement projects
