Community Outreach Coordinator - Family Services

About the Role

Our client is looking for an energetic and proactive Community Outreach Coordinator to lead family services initiatives in Durban . You will be instrumental in building relationships within diverse communities, raising awareness about available support services, and engaging families in programs designed to enhance their well-being and stability. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, a passion for community development, and the ability to organize and execute outreach events and campaigns effectively.

You will work closely with local organizations, community leaders, and families to identify needs and promote access to crucial resources, fostering a stronger and more supportive community fabric.

• Develop and implement strategic outreach plans to connect with target families and communities in Durban .
• Organize and facilitate community events, workshops, and information sessions to promote family services.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, local organizations, schools, and faith-based groups.
• Identify emerging community needs and collaborate with program staff to adapt services accordingly.
• Create and distribute outreach materials, including flyers, brochures, and social media content.
• Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to support outreach activities and events.

• A relevant degree or diploma in Social Sciences, Community Development, or a related field.
• Proven experience (2+ years) in community outreach, engagement, or program coordination.
• Excellent public speaking and presentation skills, with the ability to connect with diverse audiences.
• Strong organizational and event planning capabilities.
• Proficiency in using social media and digital tools for communication and promotion.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Durban metropolitan area.
