Senior Immunologist

Our client is seeking a distinguished Senior Immunologist to lead innovative research programs within their state-of-the-art facility in Durban . This critical role focuses on unraveling the complexities of the immune system to develop novel immunotherapies for a range of diseases. You will be instrumental in designing and executing research strategies, mentoring a team of scientists, and driving projects from bench to potential clinical application.

• Design and conduct sophisticated immunological experiments, including flow cytometry, ELISpot, and cell-based assays.
• Investigate mechanisms of immune activation, regulation, and dysfunction in disease models.
• Develop and validate novel therapeutic targets and strategies for immune-mediated diseases.
• Lead a team of researchers, providing scientific direction, mentorship, and performance management.
• Analyze and interpret complex experimental data, presenting findings to internal teams and external scientific bodies.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of the immunology research pipeline and identify new areas of scientific exploration.

• Ph.D. in Immunology, Biology, or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 6 years of relevant post-doctoral or industry experience in immunology research .
• Extensive experience with various immunological techniques and their application to disease research.
• Proven ability to lead research projects and manage a team of scientists.
• Strong track record of publications in reputable scientific journals.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills required for a role in Durban .
