Role OverviewWigmore Trading is seeking an energetic and entrepreneurial Commission-Only Sales Associate to represent the company in Durban and throughout Kwa Zulu-Natal. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, managing client relationships, and driving sales growth in FMCG, industrial, and commodity sectors.
This position is ideal for a motivated, performance-driven sales professional with excellent negotiation skills, local market knowledge, and a passion for trade and business development.
Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify, engage, and manage relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and retailers across Kwa Zulu-Natal.
Promote Wigmore Trading’s portfolio of FMCG, industrial, and commodity products.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts in coordination with the Lagos head office.
Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and competitors.
Manage client communications, prepare quotations, and handle follow-ups.
Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to ensure efficient order delivery.
Represent Wigmore Trading at business forums, trade shows, and networking events.
Maintain accurate records of client activity, performance metrics, and market feedback.
Qualifications & EducationBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or International Trade preferred.
3–5 years of experience in sales, trading, or business development.
Proven track record in FMCG, import/export, or B2B distribution.
Strong business network within South Africa’s retail and wholesale sectors preferred.
Skills & ExperienceExcellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
In-depth knowledge of South Africa’s trade and logistics landscape.
Fluency in English required; proficiency in Zulu or Afrikaans is an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently.
Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales targets.
