Key Account Manager - FMCG

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and strategic Key Account Manager to manage and grow significant retail accounts within the FMCG sector in Durban . This role focuses on nurturing relationships with major clients, understanding their business needs, and developing tailored solutions to drive mutual growth. You will be responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction, negotiating contracts, and implementing effective account strategies to maximize sales and profitability.

• Manage and strengthen relationships with key national and regional retail accounts.
• Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve sales targets and growth objectives.
• Identify and capitalize on opportunities for increased product listings, promotional activities, and market penetration.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with key stakeholders to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
• Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, supply chain, finance) to ensure seamless execution of account strategies.
• Analyze sales data and market trends to provide strategic insights and recommendations to clients and management.

• Proven experience as a Key Account Manager or similar role, specifically within the FMCG industry .
• Demonstrated success in managing large, complex retail accounts and driving significant revenue growth.
• Excellent negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical abilities and proficiency in sales forecasting and planning.
• Deep understanding of the retail landscape in Durban and surrounding areas.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
