Technical Sales Representative

A well-established company in the fluid power industry is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Representative to join its Durban branch.

• Matric with Mathematics and Science.

• Valid driver's licence.

• Own reliable vehicle (essential).

• Must currently reside in the Durban area.

• Minimum of 5 years' sales experience within the Fluid Power industry.

• Technical and mechanical background.

• Hydraulic and/or Pneumatics qualification through a MerSETA-accredited training provider.

• Hydraulic and pneumatic experience is advantageous.

• Relevant tertiary qualification is advantageous.

• Knowledge of the SYSPRO ERP system is advantageous.

• Achieve annual gross profit and sales targets.

• Manage and grow an existing customer base through regular customer visits.

• Identify and secure new business opportunities.

• Prepare accurate quotations and ensure customer enquiries are handled efficiently.

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships.

• Prepare sales reports and attend sales meetings.

• Assist with tenders where applicable.

• Liaise with engineering and workshop teams to ensure customer requirements are met.

• Maintain high levels of customer service.

• Ensure compliance with company health and safety policies.

• Customer-focused with proven sales ability.

• Strong negotiation and communication skills.

• Results-driven and self-motivated.

• Good administrative and organisational skills.

• Understanding of the hydraulics and pneumatics market.

• Reliable, professional and ethical.

• Well-presented with excellent time management.

• Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
