Business Development Manager - Corporate Insurance

Our client, a prominent player in the South African insurance landscape, is actively seeking a driven and accomplished Business Development Manager to spearhead their corporate insurance division in Durban, Kwa Zulu-Natal. • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to increase market penetration and revenue within the corporate insurance sector.
• Identify and prospect potential new corporate clients, understanding their unique insurance needs and challenges.
• Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers in target companies.
• Present and effectively articulate the value proposition of our client's comprehensive insurance products and services.
• Negotiate and close sales agreements, ensuring favorable terms for both the client and the company.
• Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and product development teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
• Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes impacting the corporate insurance landscape.
• Prepare and deliver regular sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline analyses to senior management.
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions in Durban and surrounding areas.
• Achieve and surpass agreed-upon sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).

• A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within the corporate insurance industry.
• Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets in a competitive market.
• Comprehensive knowledge of commercial insurance products, including liability, property, and specialty lines.
• Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong networking abilities and a proven track record of building client relationships.
• Proficiency in CRM software and standard office applications.
• Ability to work independently, manage a diverse pipeline, and prioritize effectively.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed for client meetings within Kwa Zulu-Natal.
• Relevant professional insurance qualifications (e.g., NQF Level 5/6) are advantageous.
