We are seeking a highly organized Marine Logistics Coordinator to join our operations team in Durban. You will oversee vessel movements, cargo handling, and port documentation, acting as the primary liaison between ship masters, port authorities, and internal stakeholders. • Coordinate vessel arrival and departure schedules with port authorities and marine pilots.
• Manage the preparation and submission of all required customs, port, and cargo documentation.
• Monitor cargo loading and discharging operations to ensure compliance with safety standards and timelines.
• Liaise with shipping agents, bunker suppliers, and marine surveyors to arrange necessary vessel services.
• Track and report on vessel performance, port congestion, and operational delays to management.
• Ensure strict adherence to international maritime regulations, environmental policies, and company safety protocols.

• Strong understanding of maritime logistics, port operations, and international shipping regulations.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage diverse stakeholders effectively.
• Proficiency in marine tracking software, port management systems, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools.
• Ability to work under pressure and make critical decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail in documentation.
• Problem-solving mindset with a focus on operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management from a recognized tertiary institution.

A minimum of five years of progressive experience in marine logistics or port agency operations is required. Proven experience in handling complex cargo operations in South Africa is highly advantageous.
