About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and proactive Flight Operations Officer to join their team in Durban . In this vital role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring flight schedules to ensure safe, efficient, and punctual airline operations. You will liaise with flight crews, ground staff, and regulatory bodies to manage all aspects of flight operations. This hybrid position offers a blend of office-based responsibilities and the flexibility to work remotely on certain days, perfect for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, critical decision-making environment within the aviation sector.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and optimize flight plans, considering weather conditions, air traffic control, and operational constraints.
- Monitor flight progress in real-time, making necessary adjustments to schedules and providing support to flight crews.
- Coordinate with dispatch, maintenance, and ground operations to ensure smooth flight turnarounds.
- Manage operational disruptions, such as delays or cancellations, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all aviation regulations, company policies, and safety management systems.
- Maintain accurate operational records and prepare performance reports.
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in flight operations, airline dispatch, or a similar aviation role.
- In-depth understanding of flight planning, air traffic control procedures, and meteorological factors.
- Proficiency in flight operations software and systems.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing operational demands in a hybrid work model.
