About the Role
Our client is looking for a meticulous and proactive Flight Dispatcher to join their operations center in Durban. You will play a pivotal role in planning and monitoring flight operations, ensuring that all flights are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. This position demands a keen understanding of flight planning, meteorology, and navigation, working collaboratively with pilots, maintenance, and crew scheduling to orchestrate seamless flight operations across their network.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and approve flight plans, considering factors such as aircraft performance, weather conditions, fuel requirements, and airspace restrictions.
- Monitor ongoing flights, providing en-route support, updates, and re-planning as necessary due to changing conditions.
- Communicate critical operational information and flight plan amendments to flight crews and relevant stakeholders.
- Liaise with various departments, including maintenance, crew scheduling, and ground operations, to ensure coordinated and timely flight execution.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable aviation regulations and company operational procedures.
- Analyze weather forecasts and operational data to anticipate potential issues and proactively implement solutions.
- A valid Flight Dispatcher license or equivalent certification recognized by aviation authorities.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in flight planning, operations control, or a related aviation field.
- Solid knowledge of aviation meteorology, navigation principles, and aircraft performance characteristics.
- Proficiency in using flight planning software and operational databases.
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
