Our client in the healthcare sector is looking for an experienced Logistics Manager to lead and oversee the efficient movement, storage and distribution of goods, equipment, medical supplies and other operational materials across the organisation.
Purpose of the RoleThe Logistics Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing end-to-end logistics operations, ensuring that goods and supplies are delivered efficiently, accurately and on time.
The role will ensure that all logistics activities are managed in a cost-effective, compliant and customer-focused manner, while adhering to company policies, quality standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will play a key role in optimising logistics processes, managing operational efficiency, controlling costs and ensuring uninterrupted availability of critical supplies and materials.
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in logistics, transport or supply chain management.
- Experience managing staff and external service providers.
- Experience with fleet and inventory management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Advantageous:
- Experience in a healthcare, diagnostics, laboratory or medical environment.
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety and transport requirements.
- Experience working with logistics or inventory management systems.

- Plan and coordinate the collection, transportation and delivery of goods and supplies.
- Ensure timely distribution of stock, equipment and materials to company sites and practices.
- Monitor delivery schedules and resolve delays or logistical challenges.
- Coordinate internal and external transportation requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections and transfers.
- Fleet & Transport Management
- Oversee company vehicles and transportation arrangements.
- Monitor vehicle availability, servicing, licensing and maintenance requirements.
- Ensure that vehicles are used responsibly and in accordance with company policies.
- Monitor fuel usage and other transport-related costs.
- Address vehicle incidents, breakdowns and operational issues.
- Stock & Inventory Coordination
- Work closely with Procurement, Stores and Operations to ensure adequate stock availability.
- Monitor the movement of stock between locations.
- Assist with stock control and investigate discrepancies, losses or shortages.
- Ensure that goods are stored and transported appropriately.
- Support stocktaking and inventory reconciliation processes.
- Supplier & Service Provider Management
- Coordinate with logistics suppliers, couriers and transport service providers.
- Monitor service levels, delivery performance and costs.
- Escalate service delivery issues where necessary.
- Assist with obtaining quotations and evaluating logistics service providers.
