Dedicated Local Truck Driver

Our client is seeking a reliable and experienced Dedicated Local Truck Driver to join their established transport operations based in Durban. This position focuses on local and regional haulage, ensuring the safe and timely transportation of goods within Kwa Zulu-Natal. You will be responsible for operating heavy-duty trucks, maintaining logs, and upholding the company's commitment to safety and service excellence. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of heavy vehicle operation and maintenance, along with a professional demeanor suitable for representing our client to various business partners and customers throughout the region.

• Operate heavy-duty trucks (e.g., Semi-trailers , rigid trucks) in a safe and responsible manner.
• Transport goods between distribution centers, client sites, and other designated locations within the Durban area and surrounding provinces.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer, reporting any defects or maintenance needs.
• Maintain accurate driver logs and delivery records as per legal and company requirements.
• Secure cargo properly to prevent damage or loss during transit.
• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.

• Valid Code 14 driver's license with PRDP (Professional Driving Permit).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience driving heavy-duty commercial vehicles.
• Proven ability to operate various types of trucks and trailers.
• Good knowledge of the road network in Kwa Zulu-Natal.
• Physical ability to perform tasks such as climbing into the cab, securing loads, and performing basic checks.
• Strong commitment to safety and a responsible driving attitude.
