Stock Controller

Introduction

A leading wholesaler of building material/systems, glass and accessories supplying the window, façade and door manufacturing industry is seeking to appoint a capable and experienced Stock Controller to join its team.

The core purpose of the role is to ensure the effective stock control of goods in accordance with company standards.

Stock Control

• Ensure effective stock control and reconcile stock with the data storage system.
• Ensure all stock is quality checked and correctly binned in a timely manner.
• Ensure all bins scheduled for counting are closed off on SAGE on the same day.
• Ensure all bins are counted in full by month-end.
• Investigate all stock discrepancies and communicate findings to the Operations Supervisor and Warehouse Manager.
• Ensure bins are used effectively, correctly labelled and product codes are displayed in the correct locations.
• Conduct scheduled stock takes.
• Perform additional stock counts as required.
• Maintain effective housekeeping standards within all stock holding areas.
• Forecast supply and demand to prevent overstocking and stock shortages.
• Coordinate internal stock transfers.
• Oversee stock storage processes, including tagging and labelling.

Administration

• Ensure all data systems are accurate and updated at all times.
• Process and maintain stock journals on SAGE.
• Generate stock valuation reports from SAGE and ensure all stock is allocated to the correct bins.
• Maintain stock control systems to ensure adequate stock availability.
• Prepare and provide stock reports as required.

General

• Maintain health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Assist within the warehouse as required to meet operational needs.

• Grade 12 / NQF Level 4.
• A Diploma in Warehouse Management / Stock Control will be advantageous.

Minimum Experience

• 5 years' experience in a similar Stock Controller role.
• 5 years' experience within a warehousing environment.
• Experience in the aluminium profiles, systems and accessories industry, or a similar environment, will be advantageous.

Skills & Competencies

• Intermediate proficiency in Sage Pastel Partner.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Sound understanding of stock control and warehouse operational principles.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines and manage stock investigations.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Additional Requirements

Due to the operational nature of the role, candidates must be willing to work outside normal business hours when required
