Position
Description:
Regional School District 13 has an opening for a long term substitute school psychologist. Responsibilities include conducting psycho-educational evaluations, providing individual and small group counseling related to IEP goals and objectives, conducting social skills groups, and coordinating the Student Assistance Team process at the building level. The school psychologist also collaborates with all stakeholders, including school staff and parents, to meet the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students and serves as a resource on mental health and child psychology.
Comprehensive experience working with students who need significant social, emotional, and behavioral supports is required.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid CT certification (070)
- Knowledge of assessment tools, methods, behavior modification, child psychology principles and current developments related to mental health issues and best practices
- Ability to collect, manage and analyze data to measure student progress, inform practice and create appropriate action plans
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all stakeholders
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents
- Ability to demonstrate excellent organizational skills, a high degree of flexibility and initiative
