Global Trade Compliance Manager – The Clorox Company

As part of the Global Stewardship team, you will serve as the Global Trade Compliance Regional Lead for the United States and Canada. You will manage import/export GTC matters for the region and own various global GTC programs, partnering with cross‑functional teams to advise, problem‑solve, and influence strategic decisions.

Position may be hybrid: two days per week at Pleasanton, CA, or fully remote within the United States.

• Develop, improve, and maintain all Clorox GTC programs for imports/exports in the US and Canada.
• Oversee regional import/export activities: HS classification, tariff monitoring, country of origin and free trade agreement qualification, customs valuation, U.S. Reconciliation filings, customs declaration accuracy, export controls, sanctions, anti‑boycott, and CTPAT matters.
• Work collaboratively with the Import/Export Operations, Regulatory, and other GTC Regional Leaders to implement GTC policies and resolve key customs matters.
• Manage internal and external audits, communicate with government officials, and advocate positions.
• Monitor technical developments in the region and communicate changes to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with third‑party vendors to ensure compliance with trade laws and monitor performance.
• Represent GTC on cross‑functional strategic projects, advising on compliance, duty optimization, and operational efficiency.
• Share initiatives with other Regional GTC Leaders and develop global GTC strategies.
• Identify automation and improvement opportunities to enhance Clorox's trade compliance practices.
• Own global GTC programs including classification, country of origin, free trade agreements, customs valuation, sanctions, restricted‑party screening, internal audits, and IT implementation support.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in import/export global trade compliance.
• Prior in‑house experience.
• Deep understanding of WTO, WCO, U.S., and Canadian legal frameworks for HS classification, country of origin, and customs valuation.
• Experience determining FTA eligibility and conducting due diligence for U.S. and Canada FTAs.
• Experience establishing trade compliance policies and procedures.
• Experience setting up new supply chains, identifying GTC issues, making customs data decisions, and driving implementation plans.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Proactive, solution‑oriented, and capable of balancing strategic thinking with detail orientation.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influence skills.
• Ability to build relationships internally and externally and create holistic solutions.
• Proven success managing external customs and government audits and effectively advocating positions.
• Clear, concise written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex concepts for non‑experts.
• Self‑motivated, independent and team‑oriented; adaptable; continuous improvement mindset.
• Business and commercial acumen with strong prioritization and materiality judgment.
• Integrity and ethical conduct.
• Desirable: active U.S. Customs license and experience with import/export regulations outside the U.S. and Canada.

Hybrid (2 days/week in Pleasanton, CA) or fully remote within the United States.

  • Zone A: $106,700 – $204,900
  • Zone B: $97,800 – $187,900
  • Zone C: $88,900 – $170,800
