Sunrock is seeking a Paving Foreman to supervise a crew of employees and occasionally subcontractors on paving projects. The role involves planning, scheduling, reviewing and approving tasks, and may require weekend work and minimal overnight travel up to 10%.

• Comply with all safety policies and procedures and ensure the crew does the same. Report unsafe conditions to a supervisor or the Manager Safety & Health.
• Train, develop, and monitor safety practices of the crew through regular safety meetings, one-on-one development, reminders, and disciplinary action if necessary.
• Follow the Supervisor Safety Procedure Manual (SSPM) requirements including safety training, emergency procedures, accident reporting and investigation, and employee observations.
• Ensure production staff complies with policies, OSHA, MSHA, and NCDOT guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and ensure crew adherence to Sunrock, MSHA, and OSHA housekeeping standards.
• Read and follow plans and guidelines; apply necessary timelines.
• Perform regular and advanced installation/construction duties including project layout and timely paperwork.
• Organize, supervise, lead, and train employees to complete projects within established guidelines and time frames.
• Submit crew members’ timesheets to payroll by the required deadline.
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals; provide leadership by example.
• Enforce all client safety policies and procedures; comply with company policies including discipline and documentation.
• Attend meetings as required and perform other duties as assigned.

  Skills and Abilities:
  
  Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Basic math and measurement skills; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret simple graphs.
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and handle problems with several concrete variables.
• Basic personal computer skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Three to five years of related experience required; other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

• OSHA 10 hour preferred
• Storm water Supervisor Level II Certification Preferred
• Lane Closure Certification Preferred
• Trenching safety and confined space certification preferred
• Current North Carolina Driver’s License
