Position: Healthcare Project Architect/Project Manager (PA/PM)

Healthcare Project Architect/Project Manager (PA/PM)

Shepley Bulfinch is seeking a well‑rounded Healthcare Project Architect/Project Manager (PA/PM) to join our Durham studio. They are creative and passionate about architecture, curious about solving complex problems, and looking to grow and learn from others that share the same values. They can manage and mentor a team of 3‑10 people, establish project workplans (staffing, budget, schedule) and fulfill contractual, financial and cost‑control responsibilities.

Special emphasis is placed on relationship‑building both internally and externally. The PA/PM will lead or assist on the internal production and delivery of architectural drawings, interface with clients, and lead meetings during the construction administration phase.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and mentor a team of 3‑10 people.
  • Establish project workplans (staffing, budget, schedule) and fulfill contractual, financial and cost‑control responsibilities.
  • Lead or assist on the internal production and delivery of architectural drawings.
  • Interface with clients and lead meetings during the construction administration phase.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience working on all phases of architectural projects.
  • Experience in healthcare, (ambulatory and institutional work preferred).
  • Established local connections in the Durham regional area.
  • B.Arch., M.Arch. or equivalent degree.
  • Registered architect preferred (we will accept candidates actively pursuing licensure).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Construction administration experience.
  • Significant experience using Revit for architectural documentation, as well as experience reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs and revising documents in Revit.
