Primary Function of Organizational UnitThe Julius L. Chambers Biomedical/Biotechnology Research Institute (BBRI) is a state-of-the-art 40,000 sq. ft. research facility dedicated to expanding research capacity in biomedical and biotechnology fields. BBRI conducts multidisciplinary research focusing on health issues affecting minority and underserved groups, providing research experiences for students.
Primary Purpose of PositionThis tenure-track faculty position (Assistant or Associate level) in the Biological and Biomedical Sciences Department (BBSD) involves establishing an extramurally funded research program, teaching core and elective courses, and participating in service activities. Research areas include neuroscience, cancer biology, microbiology, and nutritional science.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Postdoctoral experience (at least 3 years), with evidence in research, publications, and grants
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Knowledge in biology, cell biology, molecular biology, or biological chemistry
- Experience teaching university biology courses, especially in cell biology, molecular biology, and biological chemistry
Doctoral degree in biological sciences or related field, with at least 3 years of postdoctoral experience.
Licenses or CertificationMust have a doctoral degree in biological sciences or related discipline, with 3 years of postdoctoral experience.
