Primary Purpose of PositionThe Assistant Dean reports directly to the Dean of the School of Business. Primary responsibilities include:
- Lead the School’s Assurance of Learning program across all degree programs and concentrations.
- Lead compliance with AACSB and SACSCOC accreditation, including survey data collection and internal/external reporting.
- Serve on the School’s leadership team, providing strategic and operational direction.
- Represent the Dean as necessary and perform other duties as assigned.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Work independently and function effectively on a team or in a diverse group.
- Exercise independent judgment in complex and new situations.
- Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet strict deadlines.
- Maintain currency and detailed knowledge of job‑related policies and procedures (assessment, accreditation, finance).
- Maintain proficiency in MS Office Suite and related technological resources.
- Detail‑oriented and willing to work in a changing environment.
- Maintain strict confidentiality.
- Master’s or doctoral degree, preferably from an AACSB accredited institution.
- Minimum seven (7) years of experience in academic assessment of student learning.
- Preferably five (5) years teaching in higher education.
- Detailed knowledge of the AACSB Accreditation Continuous Improvement process and related standards.
- At least three Assessment/Accreditation trainings or conferences in the last five years.

Primary Responsibilities And Duties- Serve on the School’s leadership team to provide strategic and operational direction.
- AACSB Accreditation: ensure all timeline requirements, advise Dean and chairs, coordinate deliverables (CIR Report, surveys, budget), and attend at least one accreditation‑related seminar annually.
- School of Business Assessment Programs: collaborate with associate dean and departments to plan, execute, and report student learning assessments; report status semi‑annually; complete Academic Affairs Annual Reports.
- Other academic related duties: serve on search committees, advise Beta Gamma Sigma.
- Financial related duties: provide guidance to Dean and chairs on fiscal viability.
- Other duties as assigned by the Dean.
