• Conduct one‑on‑one and small group advising sessions with University College students (first year, sophomores, and transfer students) to discuss majors, degree requirements, academic progress, and course selection for future semesters; review student progression in coursework to ensure students advance adequately in their curriculum plan and make necessary schedule adjustments and recommendations.
• Assist students in accessing and utilizing support services, including tutoring, supplemental instruction, and academic success workshops; provide intervention to high‑risk students identified by early alert mechanisms.
• Coordinate advising initiatives, including the development of programming, facilitating new employee training, and conducting academic appeal reviews; offer mentorship to colleagues, sharing best practices and ensuring adherence to university policies and procedures.
• Proactively identify opportunities and implement strategies to bolster student retention rates and actively engage students in their academic journeys; represent University College on campus committees to ensure its interests are advocated for and collaborate with campus partners to enhance the student experience.
• Utilize advising technology tools to streamline advising processes, maintain student records, and enhance communication with students; implement strategies to monitor and support students' progression, retention, and overall holistic development throughout the semester using proactive retention strategies.
• Serve on various committees on campus to ensure University College is represented and engaged with campus partners as assigned; attend departmental meetings and perform other related duties as assigned.
