Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. As an Electrical Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our company's success by accurately estimating the costs associated with electrical projects. You will be responsible for evaluating project requirements, conducting cost analyses, and preparing detailed estimates that align with client specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Assessment: Evaluate project plans, specifications, and drawings to understand the scope of work, materials required, and project timeline.

Cost Analysis: Analyze labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs to develop accurate project estimates.

Takeoffs: Perform takeoffs of electrical components and quantities required for the project, ensuring all necessary items are included.

Vendor and Subcontractor Relations: Collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and manufacturers to obtain competitive pricing and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and materials.

Estimating Software: Utilize estimating software and tools to streamline the estimation process and maintain a consistent and organized estimating database.

Budget Development: Prepare detailed and comprehensive cost estimates, including labor and material costs, overhead, and profit margins.

Bid Documentation: Create detailed bid proposals, including scope of work, pricing breakdowns, and project schedules, for submission to clients and general contractors.

Risk Assessment: Identify potential project risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate them.

Communication: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to address any questions or concerns related to project estimates and budgets.

Cost Tracking: Monitor project costs and provide ongoing support during the project lifecycle, including change order pricing and cost analysis.

Quality Assurance: Ensure that estimates adhere to industry standards, codes, and regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in the construction or electrical industry.
Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and materials.
Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam, Excel).
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy in estimating.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
Project management experience (a plus).
