Our Advanced Cores Group (AGC) is seeking motivated Analog/Mixed Signal Design Engineers to support our Wireless Communications Group located at ADI’s RTP/Raleigh, North Carolina Office. AGC works on cutting‑edge, high‑speed, switched‑capacitor pipelined ADC products in advanced CMOS nodes. The group specializes in designing very high‑speed analog circuits, developing digitally assisted circuit techniques and digital background calibration algorithms, with world‑class facilities and labs.

Designers go through all phases of product development from feasibility study, development to lab evaluation and help develop test solutions. It is a very satisfying experience for someone looking for a job in high‑speed analog and digitally assisted analog circuit design areas.

Responsibilities
  • Perform analog and mixed signal circuit analysis, design, simulation, verification, and evaluation to meet performance goals in advanced CMOS nodes
  • Create and present design/evaluation review documentation while working with engineers in geographically disparate locations
  • Interact with physical (layout) design engineers to optimize the physical design to meet design performance metrics
  • Perform lab evaluation and debug of state‑of‑the‑art pipeline ADCs
  • Work with a lab technician to set up and maintain test equipment
  • Interface with Product/Design and Apps Engineering as well as Marketing as needed
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent;
    Ph.D. is a plus
  • 3+ years industry experience
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Fluency with industry standard design tools including Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, EMX
  • ADC architecture knowledge is highly desirable
  • Good understanding of analysis, design, and simulation of transistor level blocks such as switch‑capacitor circuits, comparators, and op‑amps with SPICE‑type simulation tools
  • Good understanding of physical design (layout) of integrated circuits (ICs). Familiarity with advanced FinFET CMOS technologies is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with lab equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, etc. Strong lab and evaluation skills are very desirable
  • Willing to learn and work on all phases of product development from feasibility to product release
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with ADC architectures is highly desirable
  • Experience in high‑speed analog circuit design is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with high‑speed clocking is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with background calibration techniques is highly desirable
  • Strong lab evaluation skills are highly desirable
  • Familiarity with advanced FinFET CMOS technologies is highly desirable
