About Duke Health's Patient Revenue Management Organization
Pursue your passion for caring with the Patient Revenue Management Organization, which is Duke Health's fully integrated, centralized revenue cycle organization that supports the entire health system in streamlining the revenue cycle. This includes scheduling, registration, coding, billing, and other essential revenue functions.
Responsibilities- Coordinate and participate in a variety of duties associated with daily clinic preparation, patient identification, patient check in/out, charge posting, cash management, and patient appointment scheduling.
- Provide customer service, message distribution, ancillary scheduling, and referrals management.
- Prepare for clinic visits by reviewing next day patients and completing next day preparation activities.
- Enter pre-visit orders and prepare new patient charts; manage medical records, x-rays, and related documentation.
- Check-in patients, verify demographics, and edit Maestro Care as needed; identify correct patient information and account for visits.
- Present and educate patients on required forms, obtain signatures, and manage check-in files and alerts.
- Collect and post co-payments and balances; handle laboratory and procedure coordination; schedule tests and procedures.
- Explain billing to patients according to PRMO credit and collection policies; determine cash collection based on insurance plans.
- Check-out patients, arrange return appointments, and communicate with physicians and staff as needed.
- Respond to phone messages and disseminate information according to practice standards.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Basic PC and data entry skills; knowledge of medical terminology and telephone etiquette.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work; provide clear instructions; interact tactfully with customers; maintain effective relationships.
- Ability to apply departmental policies and regulations related to verifying patient information, collecting payments, and maintaining records.
