This position is eligible for a lump sum of $3,000 relocation and a $10,000 commitment bonus.

General Description of the Job ClassCoordinate and participate in a variety of technical tasks, tests and determinations involving the utilization of radioactive materials and measurement instrumentation.
Duties and Responsibilities- Coordinate and participate in a variety of technical procedures, including in vivo and in vitro studies; operate radiation detection and measurement instrumentation such as stationary imaging devices, scintillation gamma, and in‑vitro counting apparatus.
- Calibrate and draw up radiopharmaceutical materials for administration to patients; formulate radiopharmaceuticals from pre‑prepared kits; review calibration data to detect trends indicating instrument malfunction; calculate data including patient study results and radioactive decay.
- Evaluate recorded images for technical quality.
- Process computerized image data, including function curves and reconstructed SPECT images.
- Assume care for the physical and psychological needs of patients of all ages during an examination; initiate life‑support measures if necessary.
- Maintain inventory of supplies; prepare and maintain records concerning radiopharmaceutical receiving, dispensing, and disposal activities.
- Provide instruction and technical guidance to radiologic technology students or other advanced imaging technologists; assist in training new employees.
- Monitor the Nuclear Medicine Department with a portable survey meter for possible contamination.
- Perform EKG preparation and tracing.
- Assist in the development and evaluation of new procedures and techniques to meet the needs of specific protocols; consult with physicians regarding the application of nuclear medicine procedures.
- Administer thyroid therapy to patients following prior clinical and nuclear medicine diagnosis; ensure decay of pharmaceuticals and calculate correct dosage in a dose calibrator; observe patient dosage to ensure proper treatment under direct supervision of a radiologist.
- Assist in the quality assurance program related to calibration and maintenance of equipment.
- Assist with the education and training of new physicians (interns, residents, and fellows) as applicable.
Graduate or completion of a program that meets eligibility requirements for registry/certification or currently holds the required registry or certification.
ExperienceNo experience beyond the above education/certification requirements is required. Level I must obtain ARRT or NMCTB certification within 18 months of employment. Level II requires a minimum of two years’ experience as a Nuclear Medicine technologist. Level III requires a minimum of four years’ experience within the specialty modality.
Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification- ARRT (N) certification and/or NMTCB certification within 18 months of employment.
- BLS certification.
- Ability to use office‑related computer software.
- Knowledge of radiation protection and safety.
- General computer knowledge.
