WhatWe’re Looking For
This role blends foundational IT knowledge with contemporary engineering approaches in automation, observability, and cloud operations. You will help lead our synthetic monitoring, observability, and reliability initiatives while improving efficiency through automation. You’ll also serve as a bridge between our Infrastructure, Digital (development), and App Services teams, helping align reliability and operational best practices across all groups. The role reports to the Sr.
Director of Infrastructure and requires onsite presence 3 days a week at our Durham, NC headquarters.
- Design and maintain synthetic monitoring for critical applications, services, and APIs.
- Build and enhance dashboards, alerts, and telemetry to improve system observability.
- Automate operational tasks using Power Shell, Python, or similar scripting languages.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure‑as‑Code for cloud and infrastructure resources.
- Troubleshoot issues across cloud and SaaS environments.
- Improve service reliability through automated health checks and proactive monitoring.
- Assist with incident response, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements.
- Optimize cloud workloads in AWS and Azure for performance, cost, and resiliency.
- Collaborate with Digital (development) and App Services teams to align reliability and operational best practices.
- Implement best practices for secure, scalable, and maintainable cloud environments.
- Document operational processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support Windows Server, Entra /Azure AD, and core network services as needed.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of both traditional infrastructure fundamentals (Server, identity, networking) and modern cloud/SRE practices.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud environments.
- Hands‑on experience with monitoring and observability tools.
- Proficiency in scripting or automation using Power Shell, Python, Bash, or similar languages.
- Experience working with Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools such as Terraform.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams, including Infrastructure, Digital (development), and App Services.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
