PrimaryPurpose of Position
The IT Project Manager I is responsible for coordinating, managing, and delivering technology projects that support the strategic and operational goals of NCCU and its Information Technology Services (ITS). The role leads project planning, execution, and completion within defined timelines and approved budgets. Responsibilities include identifying and securing required resources, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring effective communication throughout the project life cycle, establishing project objectives, monitoring progress, managing risks, and ensuring quality standards are met to achieve successful outcomes.

The ideal candidate demonstrates the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment. Flexibility, adaptability, analytical and problem‑solving skills, and the ability to navigate shifting priorities are essential. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are required, along with the capacity to motivate, influence, and secure stakeholder cooperation at all levels. The role requires customer service orientation, prioritization skills, and the ability to work effectively under high pressure.
Minimum Education /ExperienceMinimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must have at least four years of experience leading or coordinating technology projects, with knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and software platforms. Familiarity with project management software, documentation of business processes, and a solid working knowledge of current internet technologies and modern IT environments are required.
Licensesor Certification required by Statute or Regulation
PMP certification preferred.

Primary Responsibilities And Duties Information TechnologyDefine the project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with ITS and campus leaders. Communicate project expectations timely and transparently. Liaise with stakeholders, manage project expectations, schedule timelines and milestones, track progress, determine meeting frequencies, analyze results, troubleshoot issues, define success criteria, conduct post‑mortems, and develop best practices for project execution.
AdministrativeDirect and manage project development, develop full‑scale plans and communications, delegate tasks, resolve issues and conflicts, manage dependencies and critical paths, deliver progress reports, proposals, documentation, and presentations, and proactively manage changes in scope with contingency plans.
InstructionalProvide guidance and support to team members and external partners, encouraging accountability, collaboration, and high‑quality performance, and maintain strong relationships across campus.
