Job Description

Websphere Middleware Engineer

On behalf of our client, Procom Services is searching for a Websphere Middleware Engineer for a contract opportunity in Durham, NC.

Websphere Middleware Engineer Job Details

  • Design, build, and maintain the operational readiness of the Web Sphere-middleware infrastructure in a 24 x 7 x forever computing environment.
  • Provides level 3 and 4 support (occasionally outside of business hours) for projects and implemented applications
  • Create and configure clusters having multiple vertical and horizontal clones, configuring and tuning JVM parameters, class path settings, virtual hosting and session management.
  • Configure JDBC providers, Data sources, connection pool for Oracle, DB2.
  • Troubleshoot many database issues and work with DBA for fixing those issues.
  • Configure Web Sphere MQ JMS provider that provides J2EE connection factories for making connections to MQ queue and destination.
  • S et up environment for application packaging and deploying Enterprise Application Archive (EAR), Web Application Archive (WAR) in Web Sphere on Development, QA, staging and production environments.
Websphere Middleware Engineer Mandatory Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 to 7 years in a Web Sphere-Middleware Engineer role
  • Experience administering, and engineering any combination of the following:
    Web Sphere WAS-Web Sphere MQ-Serena Dimensions-Wily
  • Well-developed troubleshooting skills
  • UNIX command line experience
  • Scripting or programming experience
Soft Skills/Abilities
  • Data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Communication Skills
  • Process flows
  • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Methodologies MS Excel

    MS WordMS Visio Internet/Intranet in addition to other job related systems
  • Professional Certification Working Conditions
  • This position requires work onsite, after-hours, and on weekends as needed.
