Purpose of Position
The primary purpose of the position is to support the mission of NCCU through the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-level applications, interfaces, automation, and integrations. The role serves as an active member of a highly collaborative team and works closely with other members of the Enterprise Applications and Development Services department, the Information Technology Services division, campus constituents, and vendors.
Responsibilities- Develop and automate outbound and inbound data feeds from and to the ERP system using SQL, PL/SQL, vendor-supplied APIs and other software technologies.
- Implement, develop, maintain, enhance, automate and support ERP systems, ancillaries, integrations, and interface solutions that support the strategic direction of the university, emphasizing business process improvement and efficiencies.
- Serve as a technical resource and support for other members of the Enterprise Applications and Development Services department, the Information Technology Services division, and campus constituents. Conduct research and troubleshooting to help resolve technical issues submitted through the help-desk system.
- Ensure appropriate testing is performed and validated in collaboration with technical and functional staff prior to implementing new or enhanced technology solutions in production.
- Collaborate and communicate with users, ITS staff, and vendors to resolve application-systems issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of three years of experience in IT industries developing and supporting software development in database management.
- Working knowledge of SQL and Oracle PL/SQL is a must. Working knowledge of Unix and Java is preferred. Knowledge of higher education is preferred.
- Substantial exposure to project-based work structures, project lifecycle models, and practicing agile methodologies.
- Experience with enterprise-level applications including Ellucian Banner 8 and 9, Argos, Postman, Next Gen, App Worx, N2N Illuminate, Windows, Git/Git Hub, and Subversion.
- Ability to learn new technologies and participate as a contributing team member in the implementation of new or enhancement of existing technological solutions.
- Excellent research, analysis, and critical thinking skills; strong knowledge in database queries, system administration, system development, process efficiencies, problem analysis, and resolution.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
- Collaborate with university constituents in both technical and non-technical terms to achieve optimal implementation results. Strong customer-service orientation.
- Highly self-motivated and directed. Keen attention to detail. Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
