Title: Network Engineer

Department: IT Services Group

General Function: Provide complete IT services to a wide range of SMB customers. (Small company, 6 employees).

• Performs IT services both onsite and remotely for a range of SMB customers in a range of vertical markets.
• Creates or updates customer computer records.
• Enters time and notes for work done used for billing purposes.
• Researches and resolves customer IT issues using all available resources.
• Assists other technicians when needed.

• Reports directly to owner Direction Given:
• Occasional follow-up with customers, regular monitoring of time entry.
• Assignment and guidance of special tasks or new customers.

Minimum Requirements
: 2 or 4 year IT degree and/or 3-5 years of hands on IT experience as it relates to the SMB market, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to work independently;
Knowledge of Microsoft products and solutions; familiarity with PC and server hardware;
Knowledge of computer and office applications;
Knowledge of infrastructure hardware and software;
Basic problem solving skills;
Oral communication skills;
Ability to work with people with diverse backgrounds. Thoroughness and ability to complete tasks unsupervised.

Combination of remote and onsite IT work done for a wide range of customers. Most located in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill Area. Some light to medium lifting of computers and other IT equipment. Near continuous use of computers.
