UNH Interoperability Labs (UNH-IOL) has been testing Networking and Communications since 1988. Fully owned by the University of New Hampshire, the lab receives 100% of its funding from commercial companies in exchange for professional and testing services. Testing services include areas such as Ethernet, xDSL, Storage, Wireless, and Internet Protocol (including IPv6). Support the technical requirements, setup, maintenance and operation of an assigned test service along with future test offerings.
Serve as a tester for up to two basic level complexity small testing areas. Work customers during the testing process to resolve issues. Assist with documentation for test tools and test plans as assigned. Suggest and implement improvement SOPs and quality documentation. Assist with training and mentoring new employees on test service offerings.
- Testing and Training (75%) – Support the technical requirements, setup, maintenance and operation of an assigned test service along with future test offerings. Assist with training and mentoring new employees on test service offerings. Execute testing and reporting as assigned. Train and mentor employees as assigned.
- Customer Service – Client Relationship Management (20%) – Work with customers during the testing process to resolve issues. Work directly with customers during a reservation to properly complete testing and reporting are properly completed.
- Documentation (5%) – Assist with documentation for test tools and test plans as assigned. Suggest and implement improvement SOPs and quality documentation. Update test plans as assigned.
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Basic troubleshooting experience; ability to respond quickly and isolate basic issues occurring during test services.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Basic experience creating technical documents.
- Familiarity with a programming language.
- Technical writing proficiency.
Compensation Pay Range: $20-$25 per hour.
