Director, Facilities & Operations
Fidelity Real Estate is seeking a Director, Facilities & Operations to join our global Facilities & Operations team. The role will be based at our Durham, North Carolina campus and oversee all operational aspects of the Durham, NC campus and our offices in Jacksonville, FL and Washington, DC, comprising approximately 736,000 square feet in total and other locations as may be assigned.
Responsibilities- Drive asset value through critical thinking, effective expense management and infrastructure planning, focusing on associate needs.
- Collaborate with many internal and external groups, including outsourced facility management alliance partners.
- Lead a team focused on delivering quality facilities services to enable the success of Fidelity businesses.
- Manage day‑to‑day functions of facilities management: operational risk, vendor and contract management, critical infrastructure & engineering, repairs & maintenance, amenities, cleaning, landscaping, and more.
- Ensure outsourced resources provide high‑quality property and facility management services, mitigating risk and driving operational excellence.
- Review and approve all building expenses and work closely with Fidelity Real Estate Finance on cost control.
- Develop an annual and multi‑year regional operating and infrastructure capital plan for senior leaders.
- Partner with Real Estate and Engineering Services teams to align priorities, develop and implement regional programs and projects.
- Collaborate with Global Security & Investigations, Enterprise Infrastructure, and Enterprise Business Resiliency to meet contingency needs.
- Support the Sustainability Office and Regional Sustainability Work streams to implement environmental initiatives.
- Draft communications regarding building disruptions or campus work and create action plans.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, facilities management, architecture, engineering or a related field (preferred). Graduate degree desirable.
- 10+ years of real estate management experience with increasing responsibility (preferred).
- Strong project management, property, asset & facilities management, real‑estate finance/accounting and leasing skills.
- Ability to work through ambiguity and drive solutions.
- Excellent oral communication and listening skills.
- Customer‑service focus and strong relationship building.
- Quick‑thinking and calm under stress or emergent situations.
- Leadership experience delivering quality services in a facilities environment.
- 24X7 on‑call coverage.
- 100% onsite presence.
- Occasional travel.
