, you will play a critical leadership role in shaping the parking and transportation experience for Duke University Health System (DUHS) and the Duke School of Medicine (SOM). Be Bold.As the Manager, Parking, you will provide strategic leadership for parking operations, technology platforms, transportation systems, and customer service initiatives across DUHS and SOM. You will partner with leaders across the institution to develop innovative solutions, leverage data-driven insights, and enhance the overall parking experience for the Duke community.
What You'll DoLead Parking Operations
- Direct the day-to-day operation and support of parking technology systems, access control platforms, transportation management tools, and related hardware and software.
- Ensure parking systems operate efficiently, securely, and cost-effectively while maintaining exceptional customer service standards.
- Oversee parking facility utilization, waitlist management, occupancy controls, and access programs.
- Collaborate with University and Health System leaders to develop long-range strategic plans and operational initiatives.
- Identify and implement technology enhancements and process improvements that strengthen service delivery and operational performance.
- Support enterprise-wide initiatives through thoughtful planning, prioritization, and execution.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for parking and transportation technology systems.
- Ensure effective integration between parking platforms and enterprise systems, including SAP, Workday, Duke Card, access control systems, payroll deduction modules, and student information systems.
- Partner with IT teams and stakeholders to support system enhancements, upgrades, and optimization efforts.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Parking Services, DUHS leadership, Support Services, IT teams, clinics, and other key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and Communications teams to develop and deliver clear, consistent messaging related to parking programs, policies, and system updates.
- Foster productive relationships with internal departments and external partners.
- Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers.
- Review, negotiate, and monitor service agreements, maintenance contracts, software licenses, and performance expectations.
- Ensure vendor performance aligns with organizational goals and service standards.
- Utilize data and reporting tools to analyze parking utilization, occupancy trends, customer demand, and enforcement metrics.
- Provide leadership with actionable insights that support operational improvements and future planning.
- Monitor emerging industry trends and recommend innovative solutions.
- Recruit, hire, develop, coach, and evaluate departmental staff.
- Create an inclusive, collaborative environment that encourages accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth.
