Staffing - Occupational Health Nurse III

Overview

We are a national staffing firm and are currently seeking an Occupational Health Nurse III for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Durham, NC.

• Pay range is $52-$55 to start!
• 6 - month assignment, with a high possibility for extension or conversion based on performance and budget.
• Shift Availability - on-site Mon-Fri (day hours available - part time 5-20 hours)
• Provide nursing assessments, treatments, and education for employees, including taking vital signs, evaluating injuries or illnesses, documenting findings, and formulating care plans within RN scope of practice.
• Manage medical and regulatory documentation, maintain confidentiality, and perform occupational health surveillance exams in compliance with OSHA or equivalent national regulations.
• Support employee absence and disability processes, coordinating with insurance carriers, benefits, Workers’ Compensation, safety teams, and company physicians to ensure effective case management and early, safe return to work.
• Participate in health and safety programs and pandemic preparedness planning, including wellness initiatives, vaccinations, and emergency response support.
• Maintain medical inventory and interact with external occupational medical providers as needed to ensure seamless healthcare delivery on-site.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is required.
• Minimum 5+ years of Registered Nurse experience is required, with Occupational Health experience preferred.
• Active and current North Carolina state RN license is required.
• A current CPR certification is required.
• Demonstrated competency in computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Electronic Medical Records, is required.
• Certification as a COHN or COHN-S, prior experience in ER, ICU, Med/Surg, or manufacturing/corporate health environment is preferred.
