JOB LOCATION JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a CLINICAL NURSE II in our Dermatology Clinic located in South Durham to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients. The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday‑Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Plan, provide, supervise and document professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process for patients in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures.
- Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other licensed and unlicensed care providers.
- Assist other nursing personnel in the delivery of nursing care.
- Daily resource for the unlicensed care providers in the delivery of patient care and serve as team lead.
- Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment of care including equipment and material resources.
- Participate in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriate assistance or educational offerings.
- Act as preceptor and support the development of other staff and formal learners.
- Participate in the identification of clinical or operational performance improvement opportunities and in performance improvement activities.
- Coordinate nurse only visits for biologic and other injectable teaching as well as suture and wound check returns.
- Coordinate scheduling of procedure/surgery appointments with ability to provide clear pre and post op instructions to patients.
- Triage patient messages received via In Basket and telephone.
- At least 50% of the role involves Virtual Care of patients by responding to In Basket messages and reply using dermatology protocols.
- Work requires graduation from an accredited Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
- All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are encouraged to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the BSN program within seven years of their start date.
- Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required. At a manager's discretion, employees with 6 months of experience who are exceptional performers may be eligible for this level.
- Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
