Job SummaryWe are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for the Duke Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Duke Women's Health Cary in Cary, NC and Duke Women's Health Holly Springs in Holly Springs, NC clinic locations. The APP will work in collaboration with attending physicians and advanced practice providers providing direct patient care, performing consultations, collecting and documenting data, assisting in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and ordering and scheduling laboratory studies.

Primary hours will be Monday through Friday. Clinical and administrative sessions are generally 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM with hours flexible to meet the needs of the patients. There is a possibility of weekend hours in the future with extended and alternative hours expected upon request/scheduling needs.
Experience- 2+ years of Women's Health work experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant strongly preferred.
Will provide obstetric care to prenatal patients from the new obstetric visit throughout pregnancy and including the postpartum visit as follows:
- Performance of the new obstetric exam with identification of problems complicating pregnancy or pre‑existent to pregnancy.
- Initiation of plan of care/diagnostic testing/interpretation of labs/treatment plan based on individual patient medical/surgical history.
- Patient education relating to pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum care.
- Performance of FHR assessment, NST interpretation, pelvic exams for antepartum and labor assessment and triage patients.
Will be responsible for management of gynecological patients for routine care and/or treatment of common gynecological problems including but not limited to:
- All methods of family planning and counseling for reproductive life planning.
- Routine Well Woman Exams and Pap Smears.
- Screening and treatment for sexually transmitted infections.
- Treatment for symptoms of Menopause/perimenopause.
- Postmenopausal bleeding
- Breast changes or masses
- Pelvic/abdominal pain
- Dysfunctional uterine bleeding
- Routine Postoperative follow up and problem visits.
- Nurse Practitioners:
Work requires completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, with a Master's degree in Nursing. - Physician Assistants:
Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program. A Bachelor's degree required;
Master's degree strongly preferred.
- BLS required.
- Nurse Practitioners:
