Southpoint Surgery Center (SPSC), an affiliate of North Carolina Specialty Hospital, is a new Ambulatory Surgery Center located between Raleigh and Durham in the Durham‑Southpoint area. SPSC will provide a differentiated outpatient delivery model focused on high‑quality, cost‑effective surgical and ancillary care. The 22,298‑sq‑ft facility accommodates orthopedics, spine, ophthalmology, ENT, GYN, general, urology, plastics, podiatry, vascular, and pain services. You will work with a highly motivated, team‑oriented staff in a welcoming environment.
$15,000 Sign‑On Bonus available for Full‑Time OR RNs.

- Provide individualized nursing care to surgical patients, applying an extensive knowledge base for single and multi‑system illnesses and injuries within the surgical suite.
- Apply age‑specific standards, policies, and procedures for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including medication administration and care during altered states of consciousness.
- Incorporate cultural and developmental needs into the plan of care in collaboration with patients and families.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, organization, and decision‑making skills.
- Prioritize tasks and maintain patient safety amid interruptions.
- Document patient care in the patient record per established standards.
- Participate in and promote the Universal Protocol and time‑out procedure for every procedure.
- Collaborate with surgeons, physician assistants, anesthesia providers, SPD staff, radiology, and all OR team members to plan and execute optimal patient outcomes.
- Engage in performance‑improvement activities, including data collection, analysis, and the development of patient care delivery systems, policies, and procedures.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; associate's degree required, BSN preferred.
- Current RN licensure from the North Carolina State Board of Nursing or a compact multi‑state license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross upon hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred; must obtain both within six months if not already active.
- CNOR certification strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with peri‑operative instruments and equipment.
- Manual dexterity in handling instruments.
