Position

Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

Job Type: Full‑Time / Non‑Exempt

Shift: 7:00 am – 7:30 pm (Rotating Schedule)

Location: Crisis – NC Durham 309 Crutchfield Street

Hourly Wage: $27.00 – $29.00 per hour

Sign‑On Bonus: $2,000

Summary of Job

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and as part of a multi‑disciplinary clinical team. The LPN identifies the need for medical attention, alerts the Physician and/or RN of medical concerns and ensures comprehensive care for each individual.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Guest Care & Advocacy:
    • Provides education regarding diabetic care, psychiatric medication and other medical needs to enhance individual health and wellbeing.
    • Coordinates care including assisting individuals with making medical and/or other provider appointments as needed.
  • Compliance &

    Risk Management:
    • Assists with intake process.
    • Collects blood or urine specimens and arranges transport to lab as ordered.
    • Monitors care of individuals to include monitoring of medications under the supervision of the RN.
    • Oversees and maintains medication records in accordance with policy and State regulations.
    • Completes clinical documentation as required.
    • Keeps abreast of all federal and state regulations and laws and all Recovery Innovations policies and procedures as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
    • Understands and adheres to Recovery Innovations compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies.
  • Cross Functional

    Collaboration:
    • Provides support to Medical Assistants and other staff as needed, which includes treatment and discharge planning.
  • Additional Duties:
    • Performs other related duties assigned.

Job Requirements
  • Education / Licenses:
    • Graduation from an accredited LPN program.
    • Current and valid LPN license.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum one (1) year of experience working in a behavioral health setting.
    • Thorough comprehension of psychiatric nursing preferred.
    • Knowledge of psychiatric medications and their indications, common side effects, reactions and interactions.
    • Ability to work with agitated guests in crisis and their families to implement behavioral management interventions.
  • Skills:
    • Basic computer skills.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Problem‑solving.
    • Effective verbal and written communication.
    • Excellent clinical documentation skills.
    • Must be able to pass de‑escalation training, as defined by state requirements.
  • Driving Requirements:
    • If driving is required for this position, must meet all requirements outlined in Recovery Innovations driving policy.
    • If not qualified to drive per driving policy, a Non‑Driver Attestation form must be signed.
  • Miscellaneous Requirements:
    • Must be at least 18 years old unless residing in a state where funder or government regulations set a different minimum age requirement.
    • Travel required based on business need.
    • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality (HIPAA guidelines and regulations) and professionalism.
    • Successful completion of the comprehensive credentialing process if applicable.
