Lab Technician
We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to sample management, testing, analysis, and reporting. Your contributions will be critical in ensuring the safety and integrity of samples while supporting accurate and timely test result reporting.
Responsibilities- Set up and perform equipment and test setups for clients.
- Build and adapt setup and test equipment for tests.
- Examine test samples and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and operational instructions.
- Follow defined test plans and datasheets.
- Evaluate test performance and sample operation to accurately assess test results.
- Record and explain test results, completing test reports.
- Adapt setup and test equipment to new situations based on data sheets and engineering instructions.
- May direct staff in test setups.
- Examine less complex customer samples and operate appropriate tests with supervision.
- Communicate with customers during setup and operation to ensure proper evaluation.
- Operate designated machines and special laboratory equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance of test equipment and laboratory area.
- May perform basic calibration of test equipment.
- Read and understand specific test standards and testing technology for scope of responsibility.
- Initiate recommendations for new equipment designs and solutions to observed test problems.
- Receive instructions and report data to engineers and engineering management.
- May communicate with clients during test setups to discuss methods and results.
- Operate with minimal supervision within defined limits of responsibility.
- Record data on appropriate forms, preparing data sheets and test reports.
- Plan tests, evaluate results, and report opinions and interpretations, as directed.
- Integrate basic continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all job aspects.
- Communicate with management and technical staff to suggest improvements in equipment, processes, and forms.
- Proficiency in sample management, testing, analysis, and data reporting.
- Effective communication skills and ability to interact with customers.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office suite.
- Incorporate automation into day‑to‑day testing.
Skills & Qualifications
- Higher Secondary Education plus three years of related experience preferred.
- Proven ability to be innovative and creative.
- Desire to work in a team‑oriented environment.
You will be working in a team‑oriented laboratory environment. The role involves using various testing technologies and specialized laboratory equipment in a collaborative setting.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Durham, NC.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
