The future is what we make it. When you join Honeywell, you become a member of our global team of thinkers, innovators, dreamers, and doers who make the things that make the future. Working at Honeywell is about developing solutions that improve safety, reliability, productivity, and sustainability while creating dynamic career opportunities across different fields and industries.

As a Senior Quality Engineer within Honeywell Industrial Automation’s HSS business, you will apply deep quality-engineering expertise to improve product and process performance, strengthen compliance, and enhance customer satisfaction. You will partner with Engineering, Operations, Sourcing, Supplier Quality, Product Management, and other functions to identify risk, resolve complex quality issues, and embed prevention-based practices across the product life cycle.

You will report directly to our Director, Quality Control Engineering and work out of our Charlotte, NC location on a hybrid work schedule, and may consider other locations within the HSS ISC sites (Boyne City, MI and Richardson, TX). For the first 90 days, New Hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite, Monday-Friday.

In this role, you will improve the quality and reliability of HSS products by ensuring customer, regulatory, statutory, and Honeywell requirements are translated into effective controls. Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead quality planning and execution for HSS products and processes, including new product introduction, change management, production, and post-delivery support.
  • Ensure compliance with the applicable quality management system, customer requirements, engineering specifications, and industry standards, including ISO 9001 and AS9100 where applicable.
  • Lead root cause and corrective action activities using structured methods such as 8D, 5 Why, fault-tree analysis, and other Six Sigma tools; verify effectiveness and prevent recurrence.
  • Analyze quality data and performance trends, including customer escapes, defects, warranty, scrap, rework, and cost of poor quality; translate findings into prioritized improvement plans.
  • Facilitate risk-based assessments such as FMEA and control-plan reviews to identify and mitigate product and process risks.
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations to establish inspection, test, validation, and acceptance criteria that support capable and stable processes.
  • Support internal, customer, registrar, and regulatory audits; address findings and sustain audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and Supplier Quality to resolve material and component issues, improve supplier capability, and strengthen incoming quality performance.
  • Serve as a quality representative in cross-functional reviews, customer communications, and escalation forums; communicate status, risk, containment, and recovery plans clearly.
  • Coach and mentor colleagues on quality tools, standards, problem solving, and prevention-focused decision making.
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean Six Sigma and Honeywell operating-system principles.
  • Travel 20-30% domestically or internationally as business needs require.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Quality, Science, Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in aerospace quality engineering, quality systems, manufacturing quality, design…
