Store Driver

Job Description

This role involves picking, staging, and delivering parts to pro customers, handling returns, promoting sales, collecting credit accounts, and maintaining store cleanliness and inventory. The driver also engages with customers to understand needs and recommend parts or services.

• Pick, stage and safely deliver parts to pro customers
• Pick up returns and cores
• Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers while promoting current sales and loyalty programs
• Daily collection of credit accounts
• Build and maintain relationships with Main Street and National Pro customers while providing the CPP with insights learned while making deliveries
• Assist in upselling and cross‑selling products to increase average transaction value
• Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting and parking lot
• General stocking including truck stocking, back stock and cycle counts
• Maintain knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales
• Engage with walk‑in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services
• Other duties as assigned

• Safe driving and navigation ability
• Ability to use delivery board system
• Friendly and persuasive communication
• Ability to locate and stock parts with safety knowledge and skills
• Operating inventory systems (Back stock) and store equipment
• Sales aptitude and customer service orientation
• Ability to identify customer needs and recommend solutions

• Speak and write English;
  Spanish a plus; communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers and leadership
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs and procedure manuals
• Use basic math accurately
• Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings and weekends as needed
• Confidence in engaging customers and promoting products
• Willing to learn about new products and sales techniques

• Automotive parts experience is preferred

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

The employee will predominantly be walking or standing and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance. The role requires reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and handling tools. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

The employee works mainly indoors but occasionally outdoors and exposed to weather. May encounter moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, chemicals, electrical hazards, explosives, and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
