Occupational Summary

Drive and operate specially equipped heavy duty refuse truck and related equipment to collect refuse from Duke University facilities according to a predetermined schedule.

Drive and operate a heavy duty refuse truck equipped with automatic lift to take refuse from Dempster Dumpster containers and load and unload special refuse compaction containers as well as special construction trash receivers. Collect and dispose of refuse and waste material from University facilities. Review the work of lower level employees and assist in the training of new personnel. Follow a predetermined schedule of refuse collection.

Follow a predetermined schedule of preventive maintenance for all sanitation equipment. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
