GMP Warehouse Inventory Control Specialist

This role oversees end-to-end GMP warehouse operations with a strong focus on inventory control and ERP management within a regulated pharmaceutical environment. The position supports a commercial manufacturing facility by ensuring accurate material flow, robust inventory accuracy, and strict compliance with cGMP and GDP standards. This is an opportunity to play an integral role in a growing startup operation and directly contribute to the success of a new commercial manufacturing site.

Responsibilities
  • - Manage end-to-end warehouse operations, including receiving, inspection, storage, picking, shipping, and internal material movement.
  • - Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy through timely and precise ERP transactions, particularly within Dynamics 365.
  • - Perform regular cycle counting activities and reconcile any discrepancies to ensure accurate inventory records.
  • - Lead investigations into inventory discrepancies and non-routine operational issues, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • - Ensure full compliance with cGMP, GDP, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety standards in all warehouse activities.
  • - Maintain audit-ready documentation for all warehouse and inventory control processes to support internal and external inspections.
  • - Support manufacturing operations by staging and delivering materials in a timely and accurate manner to meet production schedules.
  • - Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in inventory control to drive operational efficiency within GMP warehouse operations.
  • - Provide guidance and informal leadership to junior team members, including supporting their onboarding and training.
  • - Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency, inventory accuracy, and service levels.
  • - Partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure effective material flow and inventory management.
  • - Support inventory management for quality control and finished product, ensuring appropriate handling, storage, and documentation.
Essential Skills
  • - Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end warehouse operations in a regulated pharmaceutical or GMP environment.
  • - Strong knowledge of cGMP and GDP requirements, with the ability to apply these standards to daily warehouse activities.
  • - Proven experience in inventory control, including cycle counting, discrepancy investigation, and reconciliation.
  • - Hands-on experience using an ERP system, specifically Microsoft Dynamics 365, for inventory and material transactions.
  • - Ability to act as a subject matter expert in inventory control within a GMP warehouse setting.
  • - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and ERP transactions.
  • - Ability to collaborate effectively with Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
  • - Capability to provide guidance and informal leadership to junior team members.
  • - Strong problem-solving skills to address non-routine operational issues and inventory discrepancies.
  • - Commitment to maintaining safety, compliance, and audit readiness at all times.

Work Environment

This role is fully on site at a commercial manufacturing facility located in Durham, NC. Standard working hours are typically 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m ., with the expectation of some flexibility to arrive early on certain days to support activities such as material thaws. On-call support may be required at times, and this on-call time will be compensated. The environment is a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical setting, with a strong emphasis on compliance, safety, and audit readiness.

The role involves working closely with Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams in a collaborative, startup-style culture where contributions have a direct impact on the success of the organization.
