With a strong focus on innovation, quality, and long-term customer relationships, the organisation continues to invest in its people, technology, and project capabilities to drive sustainable growth.

The Role:

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will lead the commercial delivery of projects, ensuring contractual compliance, effective cost management, and profitable outcomes. You will work closely with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and senior leadership to maximise value, manage risk, and support strategic business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead programme and cost monitoring activities, identifying delays, assessing entitlement, and driving commercial recovery strategies. Own and lead contract change control processes, ensuring timely and robust submission of notices and negotiation of variations with clients and subcontractors. Lead subcontract procurement and management activities, ensuring strong commercial and contractual control. Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing commercial insight to support decision-making.

Act as the commercial lead alongside Project Managers, ensuring projects are delivered in line with contractual, financial, and quality objectives. Ensure alignment with company commercial strategy and achievement of financial targets. Lead and contribute to project handover, start-up, progress, commercial review, and close-out meetings. Support pre-construction activities including tender reviews, estimating support, and risk assessments. Oversee commercial set-up of contracts and projects, implementing effective governance and controls.

Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities. Serve as a key point of contact for all commercial matters with clients, subcontractors, and senior management. Manage subcontract administration and ensure compliance with contractual obligations. Prepare, submit, and negotiate interim valuations and payment applications. Manage project cash flow and support debt recovery activities. Maintain accurate contractual records and commercial documentation. Monitor project income, expenditure, forecasting, and final account settlement.

Lead the production and review of monthly commercial reporting, including CVRs, cashflow forecasts, cost-to-complete analysis, WIP, and risk & opportunity reporting. Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and corporate governance standards. Mentor and develop Assistant Quantity Surveyors and junior commercial team members, promoting best practice and continuous improvement. Undertake additional duties appropriate to the seniority of the role. Candidate Requirements:
Essential Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline. Minimum 710 years' experience within a Quantity Surveying or Commercial role.
